Utah knows that skiers and boarders need more than just a mountain to ski; they need both a mountain and snow. Some years it snows a lot, yet others, not as much. That's ok, because in Utah, we've learned how to create snow for our mountains.
Entrepreneurs need more than just potential to succeed; they need capital as well. Inc. Magazine has ranked Utah as one of the top 3 most entrepreneurial states, per capita, in the past three years. Fast Company's 2005 Top 10 Emerging Hubs for Creative Talent also ranked Salt Lake City in the top 3.
Utah is overflowing with potential, but in some years Utah entrepreneurs see a lot of investments, other years, not as much. That's ok, because the state of Utah has learned what it takes to attract capital: THE UTAH FUND OF FUNDS.
The Utah Fund of Funds is a state of Utah sponsored private equity initiative. The Utah Fund of Funds will raise $100 million dollars to invest in venture capital and private equity funds that are interested in making investments in Utah and will establish a presence in the state. The fund will have its kick-off event on January 26, 2006 in downtown Salt Lake City.
